In the name of God Amen

To all to whom these presents shall come Greeting. Know you that I James Hobbs of the County of Stoddard and State of Missouri being in a low State of bodily health but of Sound mind do make and ordain this my last will and testament hereby revoking all others. First I do Will that my body be decently buried and my Soul unto God who gave it. Second I do Will that my funeral expense and all my just debts be paid. I do Will unto my Wife Polly M. Hobbs one dollar and also I do Will and bequeath unto my daughter Fanny Ann Hobbs the following described property, To Wit, My two Buream my walnut dinner Table, also one Setter and four windsor chairs and one fancy bedstead and one bed quilt and one counterpain to be Selected from my beding by herself and also my clock and looking glass and further I do will that the balance of my personal property be sold and the proceeds of the same to be divided between my legal heirs as follows, To Wit, I do Will and bequeath unto John Henry Hobbs my son Seventy five dollars and also I do Will and bequeath unto my son Isaac Hobbs one dollar and also I do Will that the balance of my Estate real and personal be equally divided between my two sons James Hobbs, Solomon B. Hobbs and my daughter Fanny Ann Hobbs. I do appoint Thomas M. Adams and Henry Miller to execute this my last will and testament. In testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this the 10th day of May AD 1847.

I Charles B. N. McCabe do Solemnly swear that James Hobbs now deceased did on the tenth day of May in the year of Our Lord Eighteen hundred and forty seven publish the within & forgoing as his last will and testament that he was then of sound and disposing mind and memory, that he Subscribed the same in my presence, and that I signed my name as a witness to the same at the request and in the presence of the testator and also in the presence of Hiram A. Shook the other subscribing witness to the within will, and that the said testator then and there declared the same to be his last will and testament.

Sworn to and subscribed before the undersigned, clerk of the County Court of Stoddard County in the State of Missouri this 13th day of May AD 1847 - Reuben P. Owen Clerk

N. McCabe the other subscribing witness to the within will, and that the said testator then and there declared the same to be his last will and testament.
