In the name of God Amen. I Granville Colwell of the County of Stoddard and State of Missouri being of sound mind and memory and considering the uncertainty of this frail and transitory life do therefore Make ordain publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament that is to say First after all My lawful debts are paid and discharged the residue of My estate and personal. I give bequeath and dispose of as follows (To wit) To My niece Rhody Colwell one red heifer yearling. To my niece Mary Ann Colwell one red heifer yearling. To my niece Sarah Colwell one red heifer yearling. To my daughter Rose Ann Colwell an Iron Grey filly about two years old and a Side Saddle; To my Son Alexander Colwell a grey mare and four mule and also a yoke of steers and waggon together with all the farming utensils and three rifle guns; To my daughter Elizabeth Colwell, My Liza, grey mare and two cows; To my daughter Martha Colwell My old Black Mare and Seventy head of Six months old {word covered}

To my daughter Judy Caroline Colwell five cows and twenty head of Six months old hogs. Two my son Peter Colwell one hundred head of hogs ranging from three months old and upwards and a three year old yoke of Steers and one little shot gun; To my infant child Nancy Emiline five head of Sheep twenty head of hogs from three to four months old and Six heifer yearlings; And to My beloved wife all the balance of my real and personal estate during the term of her natural life or so long as she remains my widow. Likewise I make constitute and appoint James A. Cooper to be executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made In witness whereof I have hereunto Subscribed My name and affixed My seal the twenty seventh day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Sixty---

Granville Colwell - his mark

The above written instrument was Subscribed by the Said Granville Colwell in our presence and acknowledged by him to each of us and he at the Same time published and declared the above instrument so Subscribed to be his last will and testament; and we at the testators request and in his presence have Signed our names as witnesses hereto and written opposite our names our respective places of residence.

State of Missouri, County of Stoddard
Be it remembered that on this 21st day of May AD 1860 personally appeared before the undersigned Van W. Hale Clerk of the District County Court in & for the County & State aforesaid. Reuben P. Owen and John McMillan the Subscribed witnesses to the annexed will of Granville Colwell and being by me first duly Sworn deposes and says that the said Granville Collwell the testator Subscribed the Same in their presence and published the said will or instrument of writing as his last Will that he the said Testator was at the time of publishing his Said will of Sound Mind and more than twenty one years of age and that they the Said deponents attested the said will as witnesses thereto by Subscribing their names to the Same in the presence of Said testator.

In witness where of I Van W. Hale clerk of the District County Court of the County and State aforesaid have hereunto Subscribed My name and affixed the Seal of said court at office in Bloomfield County and State aforesaid this 21st day of May AD 1860.
