State of Missouri, County of Stoddard

In the Name of God Amen.
I John Kitchen of the Town of Casterville in the County of Stoddard and State of Missouri. I being of Strong

Mind and Memory and Considering the uncertainty of this frail and transitory life; do therefore make and ordain, publish and declare this, to be my last Will and testament, that is to say, first, after all my lawful debts are paid and discharged, the residue of My estate Real and personal, I give, bequeath and dispose of as follows (to Wit),
1. To My beloved Wife, to have the land and Mill thereon Know the Mill fraction Situate in the Town of Casterville together with all the appurtenances thereon. To have and to hold as long as she continues My Widow and then at her death to be equally divided among my bodily heirs -- and I further bequeath, give and dispose of My tract of land Known as the Jacob Wilfong tract Containing 80 eighty acres and also Forty acres joining the same on the West entered by Myself All situate in the county of Stoddard in the state of Missouri with all the appurtenances thereto belonging to My two Sons George W. and William R. Kitchens; -- and I further give, bequeath and dispose of all my personal property (with the exception of the boys Horses) to My beloved Wife to Ceep to Support and raise the children with and further I want My beloved Wife to have all my redy Money and Cash notes and pay off all My debts and To Ceep the remainder to raise and school the children; -- likewise I Make, Constitute and appoint Daniel Kitchen and Sanders Walker the Executors of this My last Will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. I Witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed My name and affixed My seal this the twentieth day of March in the year of our lord One thousand eight hundred Sixty one.

The above written instrument was subscribed by the said John Kitchen in our presence and acknowledged by him each of us and he at the Same time published and declared the above instrument So Subscribed to be his last will and testament and we at testators request and in his presence have signed our names as witnesses hereto and written opposite our names our respective places of residence.

Be it remembered that on this 26th day of March in the year of our Lord one Thousand eight hundred {word covered} one personally appeared before the undersigned

Clerk of the County in and for the County and State aforesaid Job A. Swindell and Isaiah J. Horn two of the Subscribing witnesses to the annexed Will of John Kitchen and being by me first duly sworn deposes and says; that the said John Kitchen the testator subscribed the same in their presence and published the said Will or instrument of writing as his last Will, that he the said Testator was, at the time of publishing his aid will of sound Mind and Memory, and more than twenty one years of age, and that they the said deponents attested the said Will as witnesses thereto, in the presence of said Testator.
