I G.B. Southerland of the County of Stoddard in the State of Missouri, aged 81 years. Being of sound mind do make and publish this my last will and testament.
1st. I request, that my funeral be conducted under the direction of family and in a manner suitable to my means, And position in life, and I direct that my funeral charges and my Just debts be paid by my executor hereinafter named.
2nd I give and bequeath to son Wm. E. Southerland one dollar, to be paid by Executor hereinafter named.
3rd I give and bequeath to my son T.T. Southerland, one dollar to be paid by my Executor hereinafter named.
4th I give and bequeath to my Charles G. Southerland one dollar to be paid by my Executor hereinafter named.
5th. I give and bequeath to my son John B. Southerland one dollar to be paid by my Executor hereinafter named.
6th I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Martha A. Southerland The home place or farm on which I now live described as follows to wit:
The South half of the South East quarter of section Thirty (30) in Township No. Twenty Six North of Range Ten (10) West situated in Stoddard County Missouri to use and dispose of as she sees proper and also all the personal property of any description of every kind after my Just debts are paid.
7th I appoint my Son John B. Southerland my Executor of this my last will revoking any former will by me made and that he be not required to give any bond as Executor of this my last will.
In witness whereof I have hereunto Subscribed my name this 17th day of Jul 1886.

The foregoing instrument was at the date thereof signed and declared by said G.B. Southerland to be his last will and testament in the presence of us, who at his request, and in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto.

In the Probate Court
Be it Remembered that on this the 10th day of August A.D. 1889 before me W.N. McCarroll Clerk of the probate Court held in and for the county and State aforesaid, personally appeared C.H. Barham one of the subscribing witness to the annexed will of G.B. Southerland deceased and being by me first duly sworn depose and say That the said G.B. Southerland the Testator subscribed the same in his presences and published and declared said will or Instrument of writing to be his last will and testament and that at the time of signing the same he the said testator was of sound and disposing mind and more

than twenty-one years of age, and that said deponents attested said will as witness thereto by subscribing his name to the same in the presence of the Testator and of each other and at the request of the said testator.

Proof of Will
State of California, County of San Bernardino
Pursuant to an order given in the annexed commission issued by the Judge of the Probate court of the County of Stoddard and State of Missouri.
J. L. Cambell Judge of the superior court of the County of San Bernardino State of California did on the 22nd day of August 1889 cause to come before me at San Bernardino in said County Robert A. Boyd of San Bernardino who being duly sworn on his oath states that G.B. Southerland the testator signed his name to the writing annexed to the commission hereto attached as his last will and testament in my presence and at his request. I Signed said instrument as a witness in his presence. That the said G.B. Southerland was of sould and disposing mind and memory at the time of executing the same and annouced the same as his last will and testament and that he was acting acting under any undue influence to my knowledge.

In the Probate Court
I P.G. Wilson Judge of the Probate court of Stoddard County State of Missouri having Examined the foregoing Instrument purporting to be the Last Will of G.B. Southerland deceased and Signed by G.B. Southerland and having heard the testimony of C.H. Barham and R.A. Boyd subscribing witnesses thereto in Relation to the Execution of the same do declare and adjudge said Instrument to be the Last Will and testament of the said G.B. Southerland deceased late of Stoddard County, Missouri.
