LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT


I, Caroline E. Jones, of the County of Stoddard and State of Missouri, knowing the uncertainty of life and the certainty of death and being of sound mind, and disposing memory, do make and publish this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills at any time by me made.

First: It is my will and desire that my funeral expenses and all just debts of mine be paid as soon as possible after my death.

Second: I devise and bequeath to my beloved husband, G.W. Jones, all of my property, both real and personal, wherever situate, after my just debts and funeral expenses shall have been paid, to have and enjoy the same for and during his natural life, with power to mortgage, all and dispose of said property, or any part thereof, as he may see fit.

Third: I give, devise and bequeath to my beloved nephew, Tyce E. Jenkins son of my sister Nancy Jenkins, all of my property, both personal and real, which shall remain undisposed of at the death of my husband, G.W. Jones and to the said Tyce E. Jenkins and his heirs forever.

Fourth: I do hereby name, constitute and appoint my husband, G.W. Jones executor of this my last will and testament, and it is my will that he shall administer my estate without bond and that he shall not be required to account to any court for the same.

The above and foregoing instrument was, at the date thereof signed and declared by the Caroline E. Jones to be her last will and testament, in the presence of us, who at her request and in her presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witness thereto.

On this 17th day of May, 1920, before the undersigned M. Walker Cooper, Judge of the Probate Court personally appeared G.W. Jones, who being duly sworn says that to the best information and belief of affiant Caroline E. Jones died testate at Bloomfield, Missouri on the 20th day of February, 1920 leaving as her heirs at law G.W. Jones, her husband.

BE IT REMEMBERED, That on this -17th -day of-May -, in the year of our Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred and- Twenty, before me - M. Walker Cooper, Judge - of the-Probate -Court, held in and for - the County of Stoddard -and State of Missouri, personally appeared - N.M. Cobb and A. Gregory - who being duly sworn upon -their -oath, depose- - and say- -that -they -w -ere - present and saw - Caroline E. Jones - sign the foregoing instrument, of date -May 6th - 19 -18 - purporting to be - - the Last Will and Testament of h -er - the said - Caroline E. Jones - and heard -her -publish and declare the same to be h -er - Last Will and Testament, and that at the time of signing the same, the said -Caroline E. Jones -was of sound and disposing mind, and that th -ese - deponent - s- attesting witness - - subscribed their names thereto as witnesses to the same in the presence of the testat -rix - and of each other, and at the request of the said testat - rix- who was more than 21 years of age at the date of so declaring and signing said instrument.

Gregory - subscribing witnesses thereto, in relation to the execution of the same, do declare and adjudge said Instrument -is - the Last Will and Testament of said - Caroline E. Jones - deceased, and the same is therefore - admitted to probate.

LETTERS TESTAMENTARY

To all to Whom these Presents shall come--GREETING:
Know Ye, That the last will and testament of - Caroline E. Jones - deceased, late of-Stoddard -County, Missouri, hath, in due form of law been exhibited, proved and recorded, in the office of the -Judge - of the Probate Court of-Stoddard -County, Missouri, a copy of which is hereunto annexed; and Inasmuch as it appears that -G.W. Jones - ha -s - been appointed execut -or - in and by said Last Will and Testament, to execute the same, and to the end that the property of the said Testator may be preserved for those who shall appear to have a legal right or interest therein, and that the said Last Will and Testament may be executed according to the request and instruction of the said Testator, we do hereby authorize -him - the said - G.W. Jones - as such Execut- or -, to collect and secure, all and singular the goods and chattels, rights and credits, which were of the said - Caroline E. Jones - at the time of h -er - death, in whosoever hands or possession the same may be found; and to perform and fulfill all such duties as may be enjoined upon - him - by said Last Will and Testament, so far as there shall be property and the law charge - him - ; and in general to do and perform all other things which are now or may be hereafter required of - him - by law.
