LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT

Last Will and Testament of L.C. Jorndt

I, L.C. Jorndt of the city of Dexter in the County of Stoddard and state of Missouri, being of sound mind and disposing memory do make publish and declare this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made.

(1) I direct that all my just debts, my funeral expenses and the expenses of my last illness be first paid and my testamentary expenses be paid out of my personal estate, if possible.

(2) I give and bequeath the sum of five dollars ($5.00) to each of my children they being named as follows: Lizzie Buchanan Jeffers; Hattie Drifras, George Jorndt and Ida M. Ott.

(3) The rest and residue of my estate, real, personal or mixed, legal or equitable that I may die seized of or possessed of or which is coming to me, owing or belonging to me at the time of my death or wheresoever it may be situated, I give, devise and bequeath unto my beloved wife Helen Jorndt, to have and to hold the same unto her forever.

(4) I further will and direct that I herewith give and grant to my said wife, Helen Jorndt, full power and authority to sell and convey my personal estate and the fee simple title to my said real estate and to execute the necessary deeds and instruments in writing therefor without let or hindrance.

(5) I appoint and nominate my beloved wife Helen Jorndt executrix of this my last will and testament and herewith direct that he shall not be required to give bond or security as such executrix.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand at Dexter, Stoddard county, Missouri, this 18th day of January, A.D. 1918.

The above and foregoing will was by L.C. Jorndt signed, executed and declared to be his last will and testament, in the presence of us, the subscribing witnesses, who in his presence and int he presence of each other and at his request have hereunto signed our names as such subscribing witnesses at the City of Dexter, County of Stoddard and State of Missouri this 18th day of January, A.D. 1918

On this 19th day of June, 1922, before the undersigned M. Walker Cooper, Judge of Probate Court personally appeared Helen Jorndt who being duly sworn, says that to the bet information and belief of affiant L.C. Jorndt died testate at Dexter, Missouri on the 12th day of June, 1922, leaving as his heirs at law Helen Jorndt widow; Ray Buchanan and Glen Buchanan, heirs of Lizzie Buchanan Jeffers, deceased daughter; Hattie Drifres, daughter; George Jorndt, son; and Ida M. Ott, daughter.

BE IT REMEMBERED, That on this -19th -day of-June -, in the year of our Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred and-Twenty-two, before me - M. Walker Cooper, Judge - of the-Probate -Court, held in and for - the County of Stoddard -and State of Missouri, personally appeared - Charles Liles and E.C. Mohrstadt - who being duly sworn upon -their -oath, depose- - and say- -that -they -w -ere - present and saw - L.C. Jorndt - sign the foregoing instrument, of date -January 18th - 19 - 18 - purporting to be - - the Last Will and Testament of h - im - the said -L.C. Jorndt - and heard - him -publish and declare the same to be h -is - Last Will and Testament, and that at the time of signing the same, the said -L.C. Jorndt -was of sound and disposing mind, and that th - ese - deponent - attesting witness -es - subscribed their names thereto as witnesses to the same in the presence of the testat -or - and of each other, and at the request of the said testat -or - who was more than 21 years of age at the date of so declaring and signing said instrument.

Jorndt - deceased, and signed by said - L.C. Jorndt - deceased, late of-Stoddard -County,- Missouri -and having heard the testimony of - Chalrs Liles - and - E.C. Mohrstadt - subscribing witnesses thereto, in relation to the execution of the same, do declare and adjudge said Instrument -is - the Last Will and Testament of said - L.C. Jorndt - deceased, and the same is therefore - admitted to probate.

LETTERS TESTAMENTARY

To all to Whom these Presents shall come--GREETING:
Know Ye, That the last will and testament of - L.C. Jorndt - deceased, late of-Stoddard -County, Missouri, hath, in due form of law been exhibited, proved and recorded, in the office of the -Judge - of the Probate Court of-Stoddard -County, Missouri, a copy of which is hereunto annexed; and Inasmuch as it appears that -Helen Jorndt - ha -s - been appointed execut -rix - in and by said Last Will and Testament, to execute the same, and to the end that the property of the said Testator may be preserved for those who shall appear to have a legal right or interest therein, and that the said Last Will and Testament may be executed according to the request and instruction of the said Testator, we do hereby authorize -her - the said -Helen Jorndt - as such Execut- -, to collect and secure, all and singular the goods and chattels, rights and credits, which were of the said - L.C. Jorndt - at the time of h -his - death, in whosoever hands or possession the same may be found; and to perform and fulfill all such duties as may be enjoined upon -her - by said Last Will and Testament, so far as there shall be property and the law charge - her - ; and in general to do and perform all other acts which are now or may be hereafter required of -her - by law.
