LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT

I the undersigned August Hoffmann-of the-City
of-St. Louis -in the County of- -and State of-Missouri
being of sound mind: do hereby revoke and annull any and all last Wills and testaments or Testamentary dispositions which I may have heretofore made and herewith do sign, publish, and declare the following to be my Last Will and Testament, to wit:

1) I will and direct that all of my just debts and all of my testamentary and funeral expenses be first paid.

2) I give and bequeath the sum of One Dollar to each one of my children, they being named as follows, to wit: Heinrich, Luzia, Wilhelm, Fritz, August, Hermann, Theodora and Arthur.

3) The rest and residue of my Estate, real, personal or mixed, legal or Equitable that I may die seized and possessed of, or which is coming, owing or belonging to me at the time of my death, or wheresoever it may be situated.

I give, devise and bequeath unto my beloved wife, Theodora Hoffmann to have and to hold the same unto her for and during her natural life, and from and after the death of my said wife, I give, devise and bequeath the same unto my said children Heinrich, Luzia, Wilhelm, Fritz, August, Hermann, Theodora and Arthur in equal per portions and share and share alike to have and to hold the same to my said children - their heirs and assigns forever.

4) I further will and direct that I herewith give and grant to my said wife full power and authority to sell and convey my personal Estate and the fee simple title in and to my said Real Estate and to execute the necessary deeds or instruments in writing Therefore the proceeds of such sales or the personal or Real Estate into which They be merged or vested to be held by my said wife and by my said children under the same limitations and in the same proportions as herein before expressed in references to my Estate left by me {word covered} the time of my death.

5) I appoint Fritz Schiffhorst of St. Louis, Missouri Guardian and curator of my named children.

6) I appoint and nominate my beloved wife, Theodora, executrix of this my Last Will and Testament and hereunto direct that she shall not be required to give bond or security - as such Executrix.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand at St. Louis, Missouri This 16th day of May, 1887, Interlineation of name of Fritz Schiffhorst or line 19 being made before signing hereof.

County of- City of St. Louis In the- -Court.

BE IT REMEMBERED, That on this- 6th -day of-June -, in the year of our Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred and- four -, before me- Wm C. Bolin, a Notary Public within and for the City and State aforesaid -of the- -Court, held in and for- -and State of Missouri, personally appeared- Frank L. Schmid, who is one of the subscribing witnesses and -who being duly sworn upon- his -oath, depose-s -and say-s -that- he -w- as -present and saw- August Hoffmann sign the foregoing instrument, of date-May 16th -19-1887 -purporting to be-his the Last Will and Testament of h-im -the said- August Hoffmann-and heard-him -publish and declare the same to be h-is -Last Will and Testament, and that at the time of signing the same, the said-August Hoffmann -was of sound and disposing mind, and that th-e -deponent-Aug. Bergmann -the attesting witnes- -subscribed their names thereto as witnesses to the same in the presence of the testat-or -and of each other, and at the request of the said testat-or -who was more than 21 years of age at the date of so declaring and signing said instrument.

Be it remembered that on this 6th day of June A.D. 1904 before me, Flora Weist, a Notary Public within and for the City and State aforesaid. Aug. Bergmann, who is one of the subscribing witnesses to the annexed will of August Hoffmann, and being by me first duly sworn deposeth and saith that the said August Hoffmann, the testator subscribed the same in his presence and published and declared said will and Testament of writing to be his last will and testament and at the time of signing of the same the said Testator was of sound and disposing mind and more than 21 years of age and that said deponent attested said will as witness thereto by subscribing his name to the same in the presence of the Testator and of myseld and Frank L. Schmid and at the request of said Testator.

I,- Thomas Connelly, Judge -of the-Probate-Court-Stoddard -County, Missouri, having examined the foregoing instrument purporting to be- -the Last Will and Testament of- August Hoffmann -deceased, and signed by said-August Hoffmann -deceased, late of- Stoddard -County,- Missouri -and having heard the testimony of-Frank L. Schmid -and- Aug. Bergmann -subscribing witnesses thereto, in relation to the execution of the same, do declare and adjudge said Instrument- to be -the Last Will and Testament of said- August Hoffmann -deceased, and the same is therefore- admitted to probate and of record

LETTERS TESTAMENTARY

To all to Whom these Presents shall come--GREETING:
Know Ye, That the last will and testament of-August Hoffmann -deceased, late of-Stoddard -County, Missouri, hath, in due form of law been exhibited, proved and recorded, in the office of the-Judge -of the Probate Court of- Stoddard-County, Missouri, a copy of which is hereunto annexed; and Inasmuch as it appears that-Theodora Hoffmann -ha-s -been appointed execut-rix -in and by said Last Will and Testament, to execute the same, and to the end that the property of the said Testator may be preserved for those who shall appear to have a legal right or interest therein, and that the said Last Will and Testament may be executed according to the request and instruction of the said Testator, we do hereby authorize-her -the said-Theodora Hoffmann -as such Execut-rix -, to collect and secure, all and singular the goods and chattels, rights and credits, which were of the said- August Hoffmann -at the time of h-is -death, in whosoever hands or possession the same may be found; and to perform and fulfill all such duties as may be enjoined up- her -by said Last Will and Testament, so far as there shall be property and the law charge - -; and in general to do and perform all other acts which are now or may be hereafter required of-her -by law.
