LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT


Know all men by these Presents:
That I -John W. Stanfield - of the County of-Stoddard State of-Missouri being of sound mind and memory, do make and publish this, my Last Will and Testament, in manner anf form following:

Being sensible to the uncertainty of life and desiring to make disposition of my property and affairs while being in strength of mind and memory make publish and declare the following to be my last will and testament hereby revoking and canceling all other former wills by me at any time made.

Article 1st. I direct the Payment of all my just debts and funeral expenses.

Article 2nd. I direct that Five hundred of my insurance Policy in the Modern Woodman shall go to Frentie Stanfield my son, and Five hundred dollars of the same policy to go to my daughter May Exue and further direct that my wife Martha Stanfield retain all of my property during her natural life. And what ever remains after the death of my wife Martha Stanfield shall be equally between my seven children or their descendant, in equal parts. My daughter, Adda Davis late Adda Stanfield and my son Frentie Stanfield and my daughter Allie Young late Allie Stanfield, any my daughter May Exue late May Stanfield, and my daughter Gertie Stanfield. In Equal Parts.

And last I hereby constitute and appoint Martha Stanfield to be the Executrix without bond, of this, my last will and testament, revoking and annulling all former wills by me made, and ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament, in witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal, this the fifteenth day of July, A.D. 1916.

On this 21st day of August, 1916, before the undersigned M. Walker Cooper, Judge of Probate personally appeared Martha Stanfield, who being sworn, sys that to the best information and belief of affiant John W. Stanfield died testate near Bernie, Missouri on the 10" day of August, 1916 leaving as his heirs at law Martha Stanfield, widow, Frentie Stanfield, son; Allie Young, daughter; May Exue daughter; Henry Stanfield, Jake Stanfield, son; Gertie Long, daughter; and Ethel Steward, Johnnie Davis and Rutha Davis, grandchildren, being the children of Adda Davis, a deceased daughter.

BE IT REMEMBERED, That on this -21st -day of-August -, in the year of our Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred and- Sixteen, before me - M. Walker Cooper, Judge- of the-Probate -Court, held in and for - the County of Stoddard -and State of Missouri, personally appeared - W.M. Long and W.P. Usrey - who being duly sworn upon - their -oath, depose- - and say- -that - they -w - ere - present and saw -John W. Stanfield - sign the foregoing instrument, of date -July 15th - 19 -16 - purporting to be - - the Last Will and Testament of h -im - the said - John W. Stanfield - and heard - him -publish and declare the same to be h - is - Last Will and Testament, and that at the time of signing the same, the said - John W. Stanfield -was of sound and disposing mind, and that th - ese - deponent - s the attesting witness -es - subscribed their names thereto as witnesses to the same in the presence of the testat - or - and of each other, and at the request of the said testat -or - who was more than 21 years of age at the date of so declaring and signing said instrument.

Stanfield - deceased, and signed by said - John W. Stanfield - deceased, late of-Stoddard -County,- Missouri -and having heard the testimony of - W.M. Long - and -W.P. Usrey - subscribing witnesses thereto, in relation to the execution of the same, do declare and adjudge said Instrument -is - the Last Will and Testament of said - John W. Stanfield - deceased, and the same is therefore -admitted to probate

LETTERS TESTAMENTARY
STATE OF MISSOURI
County of-Stoddard

To all to Whom these Presents shall come--GREETING:
Know Ye, That the last will and testament of -John W. Stanfield - deceased, late of-Stoddard -County, Missouri, hath, in due form of law been exhibited, proved and recorded, in the office of the - Judge - of the Probate Court of-Stoddard -County, Missouri, a copy of which is hereunto annexed; and Inasmuch as it appears that -Martha Stanfield - ha -s - been appointed execut -rix - in and by said Last Will and Testament, to execute the same, and to the end that the property of the said Testator may be preserved for those who shall appear to have a legal right or interest therein, and that the said Last Will and Testament may be executed according to the request and instruction of the said Testator, we do hereby authorize - her - the said - Martha Stanfield - as such Execut- rix -, to collect and secure, all and singular the goods and chattels, rights and credits, which were of the said - John W. Stanfield - at the time of h - is - death, in whosoever hands or possession the same may be found; and to perform and fulfill all such duties as may be enjoined upon - her - by said Last Will and Testament, so far as there shall be property and the law charge -her - ; and in general to do and perform all other acts which are now or may be hereafter required of -her - by law.

IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I -M. Walker Cooper, Judge - of the Probate Court in and for said County, have hereunto signed my name and affixed the seal of the said Court at office in-Bloomfield, Missouri-this - 21st - day of -August -, A.D. 19-16
